Deception Appointed Times

                                         Contributed by Don Chadwick

In doing my morning study and then reading more in the book, Sabbatical Year 2016 by Joseph Dumond, it is very clear why the deceiver, (Satan) tried to ‘hide’ and bring little attention to the 4th Commandment, (Keeping the Sabbath). Most Christians say they try as best they can to keep the Commandants but feel the 4th Commandment is one that they can keep any day they want as long as they keep it. You know, go to church, sun-day school, sing in the choir and such. They say, what difference does it make as long as we keep a day to the Lord. WELL, the scriptures say it does matter and the scriptures tell us in many different places and also tell us what the consequences are if we don’t keep the 4th Commandment.

This is what Daniel has to say what will happen ‘during the tribulation period. In Daniel 7: 24‘And the ten horns are ten sovereigns from this reign. They shall rise, and another shall rise after them, and it is different from the first ones, and it humbles three sovereigns, 25and it speaks words against the Most High, and it wears out the set-apart ones of the Most High, and it intends to change appointed times and law and they are given into its hand for a time and times and half a time. Then we read in ll Thessalonians 2:3-12 about ‘the lawless one” and the ‘lawlessness” which is prophesied to take in the ‘Set Apart’ place and his judgment in Matthew 7:23 and also what happens to the lawless believers in Matthew 13:41. Which brings me back to my original question above? Why does the deceive, (Satan) try to hide the 4th Commandment?

Satan’s goal is to change the “Appointed Times’, the scriptural Holy Days and the Law. Why? So we will not know or care what days we are required to keep according to the Commandments. And it is critical that we all know the truth and Yahuwah’s plan for us including the blessings for those who are obedient and keep them. And the curses for those who don’t. See the Curses for Disobedience (Deuteronomy 28: 15-68); (Leviticus 26:26-46) and (Ezekiel 20:4-49) And if anyone says, that is OT and not for us because that has been nailed to the cross and done away with, guess again. This is for every man, woman and child on the planet Forever!!! THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS COMMANDMENT because it sets us apart from every one else. The saved and the un-saved. And if someone says, I believe in Jesus and he says all I have to do is believe in Him and I will be saved, they are being deceived! When Y'shua, (aka Jesus) said follow me, He was saying be obedient. Anything else is lawlessness and lawlessness is sin and sin will never enter the Kingdom of Elohim, (God).

Curses for Disobedience (of Deuteronomy 28: 15-68)
15 “But if you do not obey the Lord your God by carefully following all His commands and statutes I am giving you today, all these curses will come and overtake you:(E) 16 You will be cursed in the city and cursed in the country. 17 Your basket and kneading bowl will be cursed. 18 Your descendants[d] will be cursed, and your land’s produce, the young of your herds, and the newborn of your flocks. 19 You will be cursed when you come in and cursed when you go out.

20 The Lord will send against you curses, confusion, and rebuke in everything you do[e] until you are destroyed and quickly perish, because of the wickedness of your actions in abandoning Me. 21 The Lord will make pestilence cling to you until He has exterminated you from the land you are entering to possess. 22 The Lord will afflict you with wasting disease, fever, inflammation, burning heat, drought,[f] blight, and mildew; these will pursue you until you perish. 23 The sky above you will be bronze, and the earth beneath you iron. 24 The Lord will turn the rain of your land into falling[g] dust; it will descend on you from the sky until you are destroyed. 25 The Lord will cause you to be defeated before your enemies. You will march out against them from one direction but flee from them in seven directions. You will be an object of horror to all the kingdoms of the earth. 26 Your corpses will be food for all the birds of the sky and the wild animals of the land, with no one to scare them away.

27 “The Lord will afflict you with the boils of Egypt, tumors, a festering rash, and scabies, from which you cannot be cured. 28 The Lord will afflict you with madness, blindness, and mental confusion, 29 so that at noon you will grope as a blind man gropes in the dark. You will not be successful in anything you do. You will only be oppressed and robbed continually, and no one will help you. 30 You will become engaged to a woman, but another man will rape her. You will build a house but not live in it. You will plant a vineyard but not enjoy its fruit. 31 Your ox will be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will not eat any of it. Your donkey will be taken away from you and not returned to you. Your flock will be given to your enemies, and no one will help you. 32 Your sons and daughters will be given to another people, while your eyes grow weary looking for them every day. But you will be powerless to do anything.[h] 33 A people you don’t know will eat your land’s produce and everything you have labored for. You will only be oppressed and crushed continually. 34 You will be driven mad by what you see. 35 The Lord will afflict you with painful and incurable boils on your knees and thighs—from the sole of your foot to the top of your head.

36 “The Lord will bring you and your king that you have appointed to a nation neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will worship other gods, of wood and stone. 37 You will become an object of horror, scorn, and ridicule among all the peoples where the Lord will drive you.(I)
38 “You will sow much seed in the field but harvest little, because locusts will devour it. 39 You will plant and cultivate vineyards but not drink the wine or gather the grapes, because worms will eat them. 40 You will have olive trees throughout your territory but not anoint yourself with oil, because your olives will drop off. 41 You will father sons and daughters, but they will not remain yours, because they will be taken prisoner. 42 Whirring insects will take possession of all your trees and your land’s produce. 43 The foreign resident among you will rise higher and higher above you, while you sink lower and lower. 44 He will lend to you, but you won’t lend to him. He will be the head, and you will be the tail.

45 “All these curses will come, pursue, and overtake you until you are destroyed, since you did not obey the Lord your God and keep the commands and statutes He gave you. 46 These curses will be a sign and a wonder against you and your descendants forever. 47 Because you didn’t serve the Lord your God with joy and a cheerful heart, even though you had an abundance of everything, 48 you will serve your enemies the Lord will send against you, in famine, thirst, nakedness, and a lack of everything. He will place an iron yoke(J) on your neck until He has destroyed you. 49 The Lord will bring a nation from far away, from the ends of the earth, to swoop down on you like an eagle, a nation whose language you don’t understand, 50 a ruthless nation,[i] showing no respect for the old and not sparing the young. 51 They will eat the offspring of your livestock and your land’s produce until you are destroyed. They will leave you no grain, new wine, oil, young of your herds, or newborn of your flocks until they cause you to perish. 52 They will besiege you within all your gates until your high and fortified walls, that you trust in, come down throughout your land. They will besiege you within all your gates throughout the land the Lord your God has given you.

53 “You will eat your children,[j] the flesh of your sons and daughters the Lord your God has given you(K) during the siege and hardship your enemy imposes on you. 54 The most sensitive and refined man among you will look grudgingly[k] at his brother, the wife he embraces,[l] and the rest of his children, 55 refusing to share with any of them his children’s flesh that he will eat because he has nothing left during the siege and hardship your enemy imposes on you in all your towns. 56 The most sensitive and refined woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground because of her refinement and sensitivity, will begrudge the husband she embraces, her son, and her daughter, 57 the afterbirth that comes out from between her legs and the children she bears, because she will secretly eat them for lack of anything else during the siege and hardship your enemy imposes on you within your gates.
58 “If you are not careful to obey all the words of this law, which are written in this scroll, by fearing this glorious and awesome name—Yahweh, your God— 59 He will bring extraordinary plagues on you and your descendants, severe and lasting plagues, and terrible and chronic sicknesses. 60 He will afflict you again with all the diseases of Egypt, which you dreaded, and they will cling to you. 61 The Lord will also afflict you with every sickness and plague not recorded in the book of this law, until you are destroyed. 62 Though you were as numerous as the stars of the sky, you will be left with only a few people, because you did not obey the Lord your God. 63 Just as the Lord was glad to cause you to prosper and to multiply you, so He will also be glad to cause you to perish and to destroy you. You will be deported from the land you are entering to possess. 64 Then the Lord will scatter you among all peoples from one end of the earth to the other, and there you will worship other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known. 65 You will find no peace among those nations, and there will be no resting place(L) for the sole of your foot. There the Lord will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes, and a despondent spirit. 66 Your life will hang in doubt before you. You will be in dread night and day, never certain of survival. 67 In the morning you will say, ‘If only it were evening!’ and in the evening you will say, ‘If only it were morning!’—because of the dread you will have in your heart and because of what you will see. 68 The Lord will take you back in ships to Egypt by a route that I said you would never see again.(M) There you will sell yourselves to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you.”

Curses for (Leviticus 26:26-46)
26 “Do not make idols for yourselves,(A) set up a carved image or sacred pillar for yourselves, or place a sculpted stone in your land to bow down to it, for I am Yahweh your God. 2 You must keep My Sabbaths and revere My sanctuary;(B) I am Yahweh.

3 “If you follow My statutes and faithfully observe My commands, 4 I will give you rain at the right time, and the land will yield its produce, and the trees of the field will bear their fruit. 5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest, and the grape harvest will continue until sowing time; you will have plenty of food to eat and live securely in your land.(C) 6 I will give peace to the land, and you will lie down with nothing to frighten you. I will remove dangerous animals from the land, and no sword will pass through your land.(D) 7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall before you by the sword. 8 Five of you will pursue 100, and 100 of you will pursue 10,000; your enemies will fall before you by the sword.
9 “I will turn to you, make you fruitful and multiply you, and confirm My covenant with you. 10 You will eat the old grain of the previous year and will clear out the old to make room for the new. 11 I will place My residence[a] among you, and I will not reject you.(F) 12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be My people.(G) 13 I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, so that you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the bars of your yoke(H) and enabled you to live in freedom.

14 “But if you do not obey Me and observe all these commands— 15 if you reject My statutes and despise My ordinances, and do not observe all My commands—and break My covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring terror(I) on you—wasting disease and fever that will cause your eyes to fail and your life to ebb away. You will sow your seed in vain because your enemies will eat it. 17 I will turn[c] against you, so that you will be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even though no one is pursuing you.

18 “But if after these things you will not obey Me, I will proceed to discipline you seven times for your sins.(K) 19 I will break down your strong pride. I will make your sky like iron and your land like bronze, 20 and your strength will be used up for nothing.(L) Your land will not yield its produce, and the trees of the land will not bear their fruit.

21 “If you act with hostility toward Me and are unwilling to obey Me, I will multiply your plagues seven times for your sins.(M) 22 I will send wild animals against you that will deprive you of your children, ravage your livestock, and reduce your numbers until your roads are deserted.(N)
23 “If in spite of these things you do not accept My discipline, but act with hostility toward Me, 24 then I will act with hostility toward you; I also will strike you seven times for your sins. 25 I will bring a sword against you(O) to execute the vengeance of the covenant. Though you withdraw into your cities, I will send a pestilence among you, and you will be delivered into enemy hands. 26 When I cut off your supply of bread, 10 women will bake your bread in a single oven and ration out your bread by weight, so that you will eat but not be satisfied.

27 “And if in spite of this you do not obey Me but act with hostility toward Me, 28 I will act with furious hostility toward you; I will also discipline you seven times for your sins. 29 You will eat the flesh of your sons; you will eat the flesh of your daughters.(Q) 30 I will destroy your high places, cut down your incense altars, and heap your dead bodies on the lifeless bodies of your idols;(R) I will reject you. 31 I will reduce your cities to ruins and devastate your sanctuaries. I will not smell the pleasing aroma of your sacrifices.(S) 32 I also will devastate the land, so that your enemies who come to live there will be appalled by it. 33 But I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw a sword to chase after you. So your land will become desolate, and your cities will become ruins.

34 “Then the land will make up for its Sabbath years during the time it lies desolate, while you are in the land of your enemies. At that time the land will rest and make up for its Sabbaths. 35 As long as it lies desolate, it will have the rest it did not have during your Sabbaths when you lived there.
36 “I will put anxiety in the hearts of those of you who survive in the lands of their enemies. The sound of a wind-driven leaf will put them to flight, and they will flee as one flees from a sword, and fall though no one is pursuing them. 37 They will stumble over one another as if fleeing from a sword though no one is pursuing them. You will not be able to stand against your enemies. 38 You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will devour you. 39 Those[d] who survive in the lands of your enemies will waste away because of their sin; they will also waste away because of their fathers’ sins along with theirs.

40 “But if they will confess their sin and the sin of their fathers—their unfaithfulness that they practiced against Me, and how they acted with hostility toward Me, 41 and I acted with hostility toward them and brought them into the land of their enemies—and if their uncircumcised hearts will be humbled,(T) and if they will pay the penalty for their sin, 42 then I will remember My covenant with Jacob. I will also remember My covenant with Isaac and My covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land. 43 For the land abandoned by them will make up for its Sabbaths by lying desolate without the people, while they pay the penalty for their sin, because they rejected My ordinances and abhorred My statutes. 44 Yet in spite of this, while they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject or abhor them so as to destroy them and break My covenant with them, since I am Yahweh their God.(U) 45 For their sake I will remember the covenant with their fathers, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations to be their God; I am Yahweh.”
46 These are the statutes, ordinances, and laws the Lord established between Himself and the Israelites through Moses on Mount Sinai.

Israel’s Rebellion and the Curses for (Ezekiel 20:4-49)
(Ezekiel 20:1-49) And it came to be in the seventh year, in the fifth month, on the tenth of the month, that certain of the elders of Yisra’el came to inquire of , and sat before me. 2And the word of came to me, saying, 3“Son of man, speak to the elders of Yisra’el, and say to them, ‘Thus said the Master , “Have you come to inquire of Me? As I live, I am not being inquired of by you,” declares the Master .’ 4“Judge them, son of man, judge them! Make known to them the abominations of their fathers. 5“And you shall say to them, ‘Thus said the Master , “On the day when I chose Yisra’el and lifted My hand in an oath to the seed of the house of Ya'aqob, and made Myself known to them in the land of Mitsrayim, I lifted My hand in an oath to them, saying, ‘I am your Elohim.’ 6“On that day I lifted My hand in an oath to them, to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, the splendor of all lands. 7“And I said to them, ‘Each one of you, throw away the abominations which are before his eyes, and do not defile your- selves with the idols of Mitsrayim! I am your Elohim.’ 8“But they rebelled against Me, and would not obey Me. All of them did not throw away the abominations which were before their eyes, nor did they forsake the idols of Mitsrayim. So I resolved to pour out My wrath on them to complete My displeasure against them in the midst of the land of Mitsrayim. 9“But I acted for My Name’s sake, that it should not be profaned before the eyes of the gentiles among whom they were – before whose eyes I had made Myself known to them, to bring them out of the land of Mitsrayim. 10“So I took them out of the land of Mitsrayim, and I brought them into the wilderness.

11“And I gave them My laws and showed them My right-rulings, ‘which, if a man does, he shall live by them.’ 12“And I also gave them My Sabbaths, to be a sign between them and Me, to know that I am who sets them apart. 13“But the house of Yisra’el rebelled against Me in the wilderness. They did not walk in My laws, and they rejected My right-rulings, which, if a man does, he shall live by them. And they greatly pro- fanned My Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out My wrath on them in the wilder- ness, to consume them. 14“But I acted for My Name’s sake, not to profane it before the gentiles, before whose eyes I had brought them out. 15“And I Myself also lifted My hand in an oath to them in the wilderness, not to bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, the splendor of all lands, 16because they rejected My right-rulings and did not walk in My laws, and they pro- fanned My Sabbaths. For their heart went after their idols. 17“And My eye pardoned them, from destroying them. And I did not make an end of them in the wilderness. 18“And I said to their children in the wilderness, ‘Do not walk in the laws of your fathers, nor observe their rulings, nor defile yourselves with their idols. 19‘I am your Elohim. Walk in My laws, and guard My right-rulings, and do them.

20‘And set apart My Sabbaths, and they shall be a sign between Me and you, to know that I am your Elohim.’ 21“But the children rebelled against Me. They did not walk in My laws, and My right-rulings they did not guard to do them, which, if a man does, he shall live by them. They profaned My Sabbaths, so I resolved to pour out My wrath on them to complete My displeasure against them in the wilder- ness. 22“But I held back My hand and acted for My Name’s sake, not to profane it before the eyes of the gentiles, before whose eyes I had brought them out. 23“Also, I Myself lifted My hand in an oath to those in the wilderness, to scatter them among the gentiles and disperse them throughout the lands, 24because they had not done My right- rulings, and they rejected My laws, and they profaned My Sabbaths, and their eyes were on their fathers’ idols. 25“And I also gave them up to laws that were not good, and right-rulings by which they would not live.g 26“And I defiled them by their own gifts, as they passed all their first-born through the fire, so that I might stun them, so that they know that I am .” ’

27“Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Yisra’el, and you shall say to them, ‘Thus said the Master , “In this your fathers have further reviled Me, by committing trespass against Me. 28“When I brought them into the land for which I had lifted My hand in an oath to give them, and they saw all the high hills and all the thick trees, they offered their slaughtering's there and provoked Me with their offerings there. And they sent up their sweet fragrance there and poured out their drink offerings there. 29“And I said to them, ‘What is this high place to which you go?’ So its name is called High Place to this day.” ’ 30“Therefore say to the house of Yisra’el, ‘Thus said the Master , “Are you defiling yourselves in the way of your fathers? And do you whore after their abominations? 31“For when you lift up your gifts and make your sons pass through the fire, you defile yourselves with all your idols, even to this day. And shall I be inquired of by you, O house of Yisra’el? As I live,” declares the Master , “I am not being inquired of by you. 32“And what comes up in your spirit shall never be, when you say, ‘Let us be like the gentiles, like the tribes in other lands, serving wood and stone.’ 33“As I live,” declares the Master , “do not I, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, reign over you? 34“And I shall bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the lands where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out. 35“And I shall bring you into the wilder- ness of the peoples, and shall enter into judgment with you face to face there. 36“As I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Mitsrayim, so I shall enter into judgment with you,” declares the Master . 37“And I shall make you pass under the rod, and shall bring you into the bond of the covenant, 38and purge the rebels from among you, and those who transgress against Me. From the land where they sojourn I bring them out, but they shall not come into the land of Yisra’el. And you shall know that I am . 39“As for you, O house of Yisra’el,” thus said the Master , “Go, serve each of you his idols, and afterwards, if you are not listening to Me. But do not profane My set-apart Name any more with your gifts and your idols. 40“For on My set-apart mountain, on the mountain height of Yisra’el,” declares the Master , “there all the house of Yisra’el, all of them in the land, shall serve Me. There I shall accept them, and there I shall require your offerings and the first-fruits of your offerings, together with all your set-apart gifts. 41“As a sweet fragrance I shall accept you when I bring you out from the peoples. And I shall gather you out of the lands where you have been scattered. And I shall be set-apart in you before the gentiles. 42“And you shall know that I am , when I bring you into the land of Yisra’el, into the land for which I lifted My hand in an oath to give to your fathers. 43“And there you shall remember your ways and all your deeds with which you were defiled. And you shall loathe your- selves in your own sight because of all the evils that you did. 44“And you shall know that I am , when I have dealt with you for My Name’s sake, not according to your evil ways nor according to your corrupt deeds, O house of Yisra’el,” declares the Master .’ ” 45And the word of came to me, saying, 46“Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop word against the south and prophesy against the forest land, the South. 47“And you shall say to the forest of the South, ‘Hear the word of ! Thus said the Master , “See, I am kindling a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree and every dry tree in you – the blazing flame is not quenched. And it shall burn all faces from the south to the north. 48“And all flesh shall see that I, , have kindled it, it is not quenched.” ’ ” 49And I said, “Ah, Master ! They are saying of me, ‘Is he not speaking parables?’ ”
