A Construction Parable

As I was meditating upon the words in Isaiah 28:13 of "line upon line,"  "precept upon precept," a very clear image came to mind of what it is to build upon the Rock, as Messiah mentioned in his parable of the wise man building upon a rock, with the caption of Jeremiah 29:11.

The Word of YHWH is filled with promises based upon covenants.  As I sought for greater understanding, I was shown how His Word builds our life like a construction site.   We begin with the foundation which is His Word and it stands forever.  His Word is written in Stone and His Word is Messiah.  The two are One in the same.

As we surrender to our Creator, who is the Construction Contractor, His building plan is according to His blueprint, Messiah.  This building project does not happen overnight.  Just like with any earthly construction project, things do happen that slow the construction.   Examples that can slow up earthly construction projects are rain and no supplies.  To compare that to our lives as YHWH creates in us His purpose and plan,  often it is the cares of the world that rain down us, causing the old places of mire to puddle up and impede our progress.   I have found this to be consistent in my walk.  Every time YHWH is expanding me in service to Him, my failing past cries out for attention and seeks to hold me in the bondage of obligation.  I hope, I finally recognize this before I hold up the construction site again!

As for lack of supplies, that's a two fold issue.  YHWH can make anything, so He's not the one dealing with the shortage, except He's graciously dealing with us.  We humans can literally cause shortages in our own lives.  We can get too busy to read and study His Word.  We can get too tired to pray as we ought.  A man I was dating once told me, we were so busy "we'd have to make time for each other."  My response to him was, people don't make time, they take time.  YHWH has invested the riches of heaven in His children.  He knows how much time we take, both away from ourselves and away from time with Him.

Both of these issues are often referred to spiritually, as struggles.  I realize there are a number of teachings that emphasize the struggles, but that's not what I saw as I pondered this passage.  Sometimes we do go through the struggles, because we can't let go of what we think are supplies, when the reality is, our Heavenly Father has all new materials, tools, His endless energy supply, and Heaven's capital!

When Isaiah speaks of line upon line, precept upon precept, a little here, a little there, we can know the foundation will not shift.  Precept upon precept means He doesn't start at the roof and work down, He builds us up in His order and strength.  A little here and little there, means even with different variables in each of our lives, we can rely on Him, our foundation, and His order, is our strength, it's only the personal variables that are different.  We still don't start at the roof and work our way down.

YHWH's Word is the foundation of our lives, Y'hshuwah is the cornerstone, as well as the blueprint we are to follow.  A building that endures; is built by a plan, upon a firm foundation.  As we can plainly see in looking at each other and most any neighborhood.  All structures do not look the same or even serve the same purpose, but every enduring, stable structure was built with a plan, has a firm foundation and, strong construction.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says YHWH, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.  a Prophet of Holy Scripture

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Y'hshuwah Messiah himself being the chief corner stone;  New Testament
