I keep up the major housework, like laundry and vacuuming. The living room is maintained ready for guests at all times, as is the dining area and office, but it's the little things, the details that often go untended . . . As is so often the case in our relationship with Abba. The little things in the house, got my attention this week, and I believe it is symbolic of bigger spiritual matters. I truly believe Abba is telling His people it is indeed, the small foxes that spoil the vines. I want to be producing good fruit and I want to get rid of anything that would be in the way of that!
"Judgment begins in My house." For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of Elohim: and if it
first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of Elohim? I Peter 4:17 Dusty book shelves and miscellaneous extras were my focus this week, and I heard many times over, this is the focus of YHWH, in His people, as well. Many of us "know" and even "obey" the big stuff, for sure; the showy stuff, but it's those dust bunnies and cobwebs behind all of our spiritual knowledge, while we sit on our "blessed assurance!" We come on strong against the big things, but it's easy to lazily shelve our own personal matters behind the scenes.
I was shown this week, that our society is very much like housecleaning, including dust on the bookshelves and skeletons in closets . . . We like to think all the major decision and power take place in the room that is all dusted and vacuumed regularly, but the reality is, where the dust settles is often what actually needs our attention. I'm a minister and writer, so I always have at least five pieces of paper and spiral notebooks going at once. I am also a homesteader, and CEO, which means my desk gets cluttered. What I really saw this week though, was the papers that I save because they're important, yet are gathering dust in obscure places because I have so many "busy work" projects going.
Busy-ness is a weakness of mine. It is completely possible to become so busy ministering, we fail to spend time in His presence. Or we can become so busy preparing the next teaching, we don't take the time to encourage a brother or sister who really need it. We can be so focused on making our comments, we don't actually hear the question or comment made by another.
My shelves near the backdoor held quite the lesson for me. I'm a farm woman, so of course there are canning jars at nearly every location, but there was more, specifically my "catch all baskets." One basket contains critter amenities like collars, wraps, salve, and bottle nipples. That was just a matter of straightening it up. The other basket contains Eliza amenities . . .
In this basket was everything from tacky glue, to candle wicking, to egg money, to customer phone numbers, to pens and pencils, to scissors, a grill ignitor, settled dust, and more . . . I also found the grooming comb I'd been looking for, in every other place. As I went through that basket, I thought, this must be what Abba sees in me sometimes. So many "necessities" you can't find what you actually need! Thankfully, it's a small basket and back in order. As I sorted, I asked our Heavenly Father to please show me what is unnecessary. Please show me what is taking unnecessary time and space in my life, that is precluding the complete fullness of the Ruach HaKodesh.
Thank you for posting this! Our house needs a MAJOR decluttering, I'm afraid. It was due to an ailment in my lower back, that has finally been resolved, thankfully! But during these past four years, before receiving the healing treatments, things got really piled up. But I can also see what you're saying comparing our earthly clutter to the other things that we allow to clutter up our relationship with our Heavenly Father. This is just EXCELLENT!!!
ReplyDeleteSo glad it spoke to you, Sister. I'm also glad to hear your ailment and issue have been resolved.
